ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY
About The Assistive Technology Centre
The Assistive Technology Center (ATC), established in 1998, has grown into a key facility for the production of a wide range of assistive technologies, including orthopedic shoes, Steinbeck Foot Abduction Braces (SFABs), wheelchairs, calipers, knee pads, and various orthotic and prosthetic devices.
What began as a modest single-room operation has steadily evolved into a fully equipped, comprehensive workshop with specialized sections for metalwork, orthotics and prosthetics, aluminum, carpentry, and leatherwork. In 2000, the Center expanded its scope to include wheelchair and orthosis production, a capacity that has continued to advance to date. Today, the ATC is equipped with modern tools and machinery that enable the fabrication and customization of assistive technologies using metal, wood, plastic, aluminum, and leather.
